Guidance for Marriage and Mikveh Preparation for Women with Cognitive Challenges
As the number of couples with intellectual and cognitive disabilities establishing relationships and getting married continues to grow, so does the need for accessible, respectful, and clear preparation for this significant stage of life. Every woman has the right to approach mikveh and marriage with understanding and confidence, at a level that matches her abilities. Together with Keren Shalem and The Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs, we have developed a dedicated initiative to ensure that information about family purity, preparation for immersion, and mikveh practice is available in simple, understandable language — empowering each woman to learn with dignity, clarity, and equal opportunity.
As part of this broader project, we are delighted to share with you a series of short instructional videos designed to guide you step-by-step through the process of preparing for and immersing in the mikveh. These videos do not replace learning with a madricha, which remains essential for every kallah, but they can serve as a helpful monthly reminder — offering straightforward explanations, clear visuals, and accessible guidance to support continued understanding and confidence.
